In June 2011, the athletes and staff of the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation (USBSF) launched a multi-year partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure® in the fight against breast cancer by Sliding for Hope this season. The Sliding for Hope program will join future Olympic hopefuls in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Komen for the Cure.

The Sliding for Hope site will allow supporters to donate a minimum of $50, and place a name, in honor or in memory of a loved one who has battled breast cancer, on the co-branded Susan G. Komen for the Cure and US Women's bobsled. The athletes will be proudly sliding in this adorned sled during the 2011-2012 season.

Supporters may also purchase USBSF-Komen apparel in support of the program.

10% of all funds from the Sliding for Hope site will benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Global Promise Fund, which is dedicated to reaching underserved people around the world in areas where breast cancer death rates are highest. The remaining donations will benefit USBSF teams to fund team development and growth as they train in preparation for the next Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia in 2014.

More information is also available on the Sliding for Hope Facebook page.
