Getting Involved with Komen’s Mission

At Susan G. Komen, our mission is at the heart of everything we do. Our mission is to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.

There are a variety of opportunities available that are tailored to different interests and ways to get involved with Komen. Whether you enroll in ShareForCures®, serve as an advocate for research or public policy, or stay up to date on the latest breast cancer information, getting involved makes a difference.

Getting involved in research

Our research advocates make certain that the perspectives of survivors and co-survivors are considered in the decisions that impact our progress toward ending breast cancer forever.

ShareForCures®

ShareForCures® is a breast cancer research registry, connecting scientists with information from people who have or had breast cancer. Sharing data about yourself, your overall health and your breast cancer experience can be the key to advancing personalized care. When your unique breast cancer information is combined with thousands of others, researchers get a more diverse set of data to make new discoveries and find cures, faster.

Komen Advocates in Science (AIS) Program

The AIS program builds skilled and knowledgeable breast cancer research advocates and actively engages them in all areas of breast cancer research. AIS members bring the patient voice to research and help drive progress toward ending breast cancer faster.

Getting involved in public policy and advocacy

Our advocates act as the voice of the more than 4 million breast cancer survivors and those living with breast cancer in the U.S. For example, our policy advocates ensure that the fight against breast cancer remains a priority among our state and national policymakers. Our work would not be possible if it weren’t for our advocates. We need you to help create change!

Sign up to receive our action alerts so you know when your voice is needed.
