• Susan G. Komen® Honors Partners for Their Commitment to Komen's Mission to End Breast Cancer

    2015 Awards Presented to Ten Partners during Annual Conference

     — Susan G. Komen honored ten corporate and agency partners that have advanced Komen’s mission through innovative campaigns and programs yesterday during Komen’s annual leadership conference in downtown Fort Worth, Texas.

    These dedicated partners stand out for their creativity, strategic leadership, growth and contributions to Komen’s mission.

    “In the 33 years since our organization was founded, Komen has played a key role in nearly all major advances against breast cancer, with our corporate partners at our side,” said Komen President and CEO Dr. Judy Salerno. “Our business partners share our desire to eliminate breast cancer, and we are moved by the support and creativity that they bring to our mission every single day.”

    The 2015 Award Winners are:

    360 – Degree Award: Ford Motor Company
    For 21 years, Ford has supported Komen as a National Series Sponsor of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® series, through its Warriors in Pink program and most recently through the #MoreGoodDays social campaign which celebrates breast cancer survivors and co-survivors. Ford received the 360 - Degree Award for reaching all of its constituencies: customers, dealers, employees, leadership, and vendors, in programs supporting Komen.

    REACH (Recruiting and Engaging new Activists for the Cure) Award: USBC Bowl for the Cure®
    Bowl for the Cure recruited and engaged bowling fans nationally and internationally through its 2014 and 2015 Fabulous Four Essay Contest, which honors four individuals each year whose lives had been touched by breast cancer. Bowl for the Cure also launched two campaigns to raise funds for Komen: the “Your Roll to a Million” program in 2014, and “I Bowl Pink” in 2015.

    Mission Possible Award: Walgreens
    Walgreens, which raised $3.9 million last October and more than $19 million for Komen to date, received the Mission Possible Award – awarded to the partner with the most significant financial performance this year. Walgreens is also a National Series Sponsor of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and has helped fund patient navigation programs, the Komen Breast Care Helpline, and other community programs that aid women and men facing breast cancer.

    Rising Star Award: Jason Aldean
    Country music artist and Komen “Rising Star” Jason Aldean has been a valued Komen partner for 10 years through his generous contributions from his annual Concert for the Cure. This year, Aldean expanded his commitment to Komen and the fight against breast cancer by honoring more than 30 breast cancer survivors and their loved ones with special VIP experiences at his 2015 concerts.

    Rookie of the Year Award: Greensource Brand Apparel
    In its very first “rookie” year of partnership with Komen, Greensource Brand Apparel designed and sold Komen-branded apparel and accessories, donating more than $300,000 to Komen and offering new opportunities to build awareness in many retail stores across the U.S.

    Agency Partner of the Year Award: iMedia, Inc. and Twist Marketing
    The 2015 Agency Partners of the Year are iMedia and Twist Marketing, which together led the design and development of the new komen.org website, which launched in September of 2014. Their combined expertise produced a warmer look and feel and a best-in-class user experience. During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2015 (October), this redesign resulted in a 76 percent increase in site traffic, 59 percent increase in online revenue, and 12 percent increase in engagement. The mobile impact of the new responsive design of komen.org has resulted in a 69 percent increase in the number of mobile sessions compared to the same period of time the previous year.

    Milestone Awards: Merkle, Bank of America and Rally for the Cure®
    Komen also recognized important milestones recently achieved by long-time partners Merkle Group Inc., Bank of America and Rally for the Cure. Merkle Group Inc. received a Milestone Award for helping fundraise more than $120 million for Komen; Bank of America received a Milestone Award for donating more than $11 million to Komen through their Race for the Cure series sponsorship and cause marketing program; Rally for the Cure received a Milestone Award for 20 years of outstanding commitment to Komen.
