    Job Description:

    Basic Function
    This position can be remote (if living outside of the DFW/metroplex), work from home opportunity for high achievers.

    This fundraising role is responsible for planning and implementing an aggressive fundraising program to generate new revenue from foundations for Susan G. Komen. The position will be responsible for researching, identifying and cultivating opportunities with foundations, and securing $2 million in foundation commitments in first year of employment.

    Primary Responsibilities
    - Develop strategic, integrated, and viable national foundation partnerships that result in 6 and 7-figure grant awards. Generate $2 million in new foundation partnerships in first year of

    - Expand Komen’s partnership portfolio by soliciting and negotiating long term relationships with foundation partners.

    - Develop and implement aggressive solicitation of foundations; develop and maintain knowledge of foundation giving interests, staff and trends.

    - Manage partnerships from origination through program execution, including tracking of deliverables and budget. Liaise effectively with other departments in Komen where other resources are needed in order to ensure seamless program execution and partnership development.

    - Acquire and maintain sound knowledge and understanding of Susan G. Komen, it’s mission, values, strategic goals, programs, and measurement strategy to develop persuasive, outcome-driven proposals and compelling donor materials that best align with organization’s strategic initiatives.

    - Secure thought leadership and top-to-top meeting opportunities for Komen Senior Leadership and foundation leadership teams.

    - Generate new business status reports, trend analyses and revenue projections on a regular basis for sharing with Komen Senior Leadership.

    - Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships.

    - Travel required by the position (at least 30%, including evenings and weekends).

    Management Responsibility

    The Director, Foundation Partnerships has one direct report and will oversee a
    Grants Manager that is responsible for fund development and execution on contract management of existing accounts.

    Job Qualifications:

    Minimum Experience Required
    - This is a dedicated senior level fundraising position reporting to the Vice President, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships. The primary focus of this position is to leverage all available internal and external resources to create sustainable multi-year, multi-million dollar partnerships.

    - Must have a track record of meeting and exceeding large revenue goals

    - Must have excellent writing skills and strong attention to detail.

    - Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and focus

    - The ideal candidate has at least 5 - 10 years of demonstrated success in business development/sales for an organization with significant national recognition.

    - Must be able to proactively research, identify, create and close new business opportunities.

    - Must be able to effectively manage a sales process and create financial forecasting/reporting of key performance metrics.

    - Sales strategy, planning, and analysis skills are critical to performance success in this role. Individual must be an independent, self-starter who has a history of working with little direction and turning conceptual direction into executed strategies.

    - Ability to travel for related meetings, including evenings and weekends.

    Preferred Experience
    - Previous experience managing foundation relationships, including proven success developing and executing account growth, renewal, and upsell strategies which drive sustainable revenue increases.

    - Proven track record in creating and managing a robust sales/partnership pipeline.

    - Strong deal/partnership lead to close ratio required

    Specialized Knowledge Requirements
    - Strong working knowledge of fundraising principles, including methods and resources for proposal research and development.

    - Strong comprehension of best practices in grants management and restricted grant allocations.
