    Basic Function
    Helps to develop national marketing and communications strategies and tactics in support of donor acquisition, nurturing, engagement and fundraising campaigns. Responsible for taking the national level plan and implementing it locally via Komen Affiliates. This individual will work directly with the Shared Services Operating Group (SSOG), which is a cohort of Susan G. Komen Affiliates that are collectively deciding on and executing on new donor engagement and fundraising strategies. Collaborates with the operating group leadership team on the strategic direction and oversees tactical execution of all SSOG Affiliate marketing and communications support, resources, assets and tools.

    As a member of the Shared Services Operating Group team dedicated to supporting Affiliate members, will work as the liaison with the marketing and communications team to develop integrated marketing and communications programs. Lead planning and review process for marketing, PR and communications programs. Build and maintain relationships with Affiliate leaders to understand the needs within their local market.

    For the Affiliates who are members of the SSOG, oversees all internal Affiliate publications and communication channels, including electronic newsletters, printed marketing, video assets, and all other marketing and communications for them, managing day-to-day operations of content creation, marketing campaigns and design support, as it relates to fundraising campaigns. Coordinates and collaborates with other SSOG Team members responsible for social media, digital media, digital campaigns and website content and design.

    Primary Responsibilities
    - Consults with SSOG Affiliate staff to gather and document requirements and business processes that need to be accounted for in the development of marketing and fundraising engagement strategies.
    - In collaboration with the SSOG member Affiliates, Brand & Marketing team, and Direct Marketing team, develops integrated Affiliate marketing strategies, plans and programs targeting the local communities and establishes goals and measures for success for the program.
    - Ensures smooth execution of marketing strategies and tasks by working closely with project team members at Komen HQ, as well as the Affiliate members of the SSOG.
    - Supports SSOG Affiliate leadership in representing Komen before key groups; cultivates, develops, and strengthens relationships with key organizations and individuals.
    - Works with SSOG Affiliates to complete individualized needs assessments, develop implementation manuals, and integrate outreach efforts appropriately into existing programs.
    - Conducts ongoing research to identify appropriate tools, media, and channels for dissemination of information and facilitating behavior change in key audiences.
    - Develop, negotiate, and manage agency relationships as needed.
    - Collaborate with appropriate departments to develop SSOG Affiliate marketing curriculum and establish on-going training for HQ staff, key volunteers, and affiliates.
    - Provide leadership, input and support to the marketing and communications department.
    - Work with Affiliates to develop fundraising marketing and communication templates that can be used across the SSOG.
    - Ensures that team initiatives and activities comply with approved budgets.

    Job Qualifications:

    Minimum Experience Required
    • BS or BA degree or the equivalent.
    • Five or more years’ experience in corporate marketing, ad agency, business development, creative development of marketing programs and promotions.
    • Three or more years’ experience in development and implementation of national programs and promotions adapted at a local market.
    • Must have strategic planning, business development, and budgetary experience.
    • Demonstrated success creating and managing programs.
    • Polished verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to interface effectively with leaders from blue-chip corporations, key non-profit organizations, board-level directors, external agencies and consultants.
    • Proven ability to analyze and evaluate a competitive landscape, and then develop and execute integrated marketing programs.
    • Requires a clear focus on and commitment to customer service and support.
    • Moderate travel is required and will include evenings and weekends.

    Preferred Experience
    • Prefer prior experience with a not-for-profit or cause-oriented organization.
    • Agency experience considered a plus, as is prior experience with volunteer management. Supervisory and media spokesperson experience is preferred.
    • Understanding of Komen Affiliate/headquarters or franchisee structure also a plus.

    Specialized Knowledge Requirements
    • Must effectively manage and develop subordinate staff to include coaching and mentoring.
    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills – the ability to interact with many different people, internally and externally.
    • Serves as thought leader and consumer advocate for new technologies, platforms, and programs.
    • Proven analytical skills, with the ability to summarize and present findings clearly and concisely.
