    Basic Function

    The Sr. Manager of Peer to Peer Fundraising will oversee the strategy, development and implementation of overall peer to peer fundraising events for Komen Colorado. He/She is responsible for overseeing the implementation of Komen’s MORE THAN PINK Walk in two Colorado locations as well as coordinating the Snowshoe for the Cure event. This position is responsible for meeting or exceeding peer to peer fundraising revenue goals and increasing year over year event revenue through a robust peer to peer program.

    The position works with the Director of Development to identify benchmarks and standards of excellence in all aspects of peer to peer revenue generation and event execution. Serves as the subject matter expert for Affiliate staff, event committees, team captains and participants.  Works with internal resources at Affiliate and at headquarters, as well as volunteer committees in the development of models and supporting resources to build the capacity of peer to peer fundraising in Colorado, meet or exceed standards of excellence, and design solutions that ensure alignment of peer to peer fundraising with the strategic direction of the organization. Stewards committee members, team captains and donors with thoughtful, relevant, year-round engagement. Evaluates peer to peer fundraising performance to benchmarks and standards of excellence. Leads an integrated peer to peer fundraising program including affiliate staff, volunteer engagement, team fundraising, coaching and training to increase revenue while ensuring a successful participant and partner event experience.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Working with the Director of Development, drives fundraising success across Colorado through
    the development and delivery of overall event program strategies and industry best practices for
    peer to peer fundraising.
    • In partnership with the Director of Development: set, monitor, and achieve event revenue and
    participation goals.
    • Implement Komen’s MORE THAN PINK Walk to fidelity and per Komen HQ expectations, using
    developed resources and following strict timelines.
    • Oversee event expense and revenue budget, review and recommend areas for expense
    • Direct all contracted Event Management resources.
    • In partnership with the Director of Marketing: develop participant communication strategy with a
    focus on peer to peer fundraising.
    • Develop and manage the affiliate HVP and Team pipeline within the affiliate and volunteer
    committee, plan and implement associated events and activities
    • Recruit and build robust event committees in alignment with HQ recommended organizational
    structure and manage deliverables.
    • Ensures consistent, meaningful, year-round stewardship for all peer to peer fundraising
    participants and volunteer leaders.
    • Performs ongoing analysis for key performance indicators related to registration and participant
    fundraising behavior and pull and provide regular reports to staff, CEO and Board.
    • Create, develop and implement online fundraising platform and trouble-shoot challenges.
    • Provide first-line customer service for all event participants.
    • Incorporate peer to peer strategies into Snowshoe for the Cure using MTPW as a model.
    • Review and recommend updates to event policies and procedures. Develop procedures to
    ensure compliance with Komen Operational Guidelines and event related policies.
    • Proactively develops, plans and facilitates training opportunities for volunteer peer to peer
    fundraising coaches, team captains and team members.
    • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the market and work evenings and weekends as

    Job Qualifications:

    Minimum Experience Required
    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
    • 5 years of experience in the non-profit sector and peer to peer fundraising or related
    demonstrated fund development experience.
    • Comfortable with revenue targets and development-driven deliverables.
    • Excellent communication skills are required, with a demonstrated ability to provide complex
    problem-solving solutions and provide excellent customer service.
    • Must exhibit strong abilities to influence and motivate others with interpersonal and inter-group
    behaviors in a variety of cross-cultural and cross-functional situations and circumstances.
    • Proven ability to manage a number of projects with varying priorities at one time.
    • Ability to manage various strategies (operational, logistical, and financial) to maximize Affiliate fundraising events.
