    Basic Function
    The Marketing Automation Strategist assists with all marketing automation systems and processes, including designing, developing, and executing. He/She will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to implement and optimize campaigns, including working to improve the entire lead generation and donor journey life cycle.

    The position is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the programs and ensuring integration across departments both locally and regionally. They support the business through the execution and analysis of email marketing efforts, with a particular focus on customer life cycle, automated email programs, and customer journeys. The Marketing Automation Strategist will help drive the direct marketing team forward by designing tests and strategies to increase engagement and optimize the consumer experience.

    The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a database and/or CRM environment and maintenance, preferably in addition to experience with building email campaigns, landing pages, data segmentation, coding, and lead scoring.     Primary Responsibilities
    • Create marketing automation implementation plans (fundraising and marketing alignment, lead-to-revenue strategies, database requirements, automation configuration and functional mapping of integrations).
    • As a member of a cross-functional team, oversee and execute marketing automation audits, implementations, integrations and rebuilds.
    • Conduct business process review meetings and define technical/functional requirements for marketing automation.
    • Develop functional expectations and business architecture, in collaboration with the digital marketing practice leader and digital strategists. Write marketing automation user stories and lead story refinement till final approval.
    • Lay out campaign workflows, including audience segmentation/inclusion/suppression rules, validation rules, triggers, alerts, and automated responses.
    • Design ABM programs, content personalization programs.
    • Responsible for marketing automation Quality Assurance from design rendering to email functionality and static list uploads
    • Responsible for both static or manual as well as automation/workflow program testing and troubleshooting
    • Support translating business goals into measurable and actionable objectives, and make recommendations on tracking, reporting, benchmarking and analysis to measure performance against objectives
    • Establish KPIs and configure standard reports and to measure tactic and campaign success as well as business results
    • Team interface regarding ad hoc campaign tracking and reporting
    • Create and populate report templates on an as-needed basis
    • Support client campaign tracking and reporting
    • Strong understanding of email/SMS regulations across all relevant regions and ability to enforce internally
    • Execute email and cross-channel marketing programs with a focus on segmentation, contact strategy, and cross-channel customer journey building
    • Develop a testing plan to continuously drive increased customer interest, conversion, sales, LTV and profitability across segments and channels

    Job Qualifications:

    Minimum Experience Required
    The ideal candidate will have:

    • BS Degree or similar college level education
    • 5+ years of IT systems experience along with 2+ years of Marketing Automation experience such as Marketo, Adobe Campaign, Oracle Marketing Cloud (Eloqua), or Salesforce.com Pardot.
    • Hands-on experience with Salesforce and a Marketing Automation Platform (Pardot is a plus, Salesforce CRM certification a plus)
    • Relevant email marketing experience with an emphasis on customer segmentation in a test and learn environment
    • Experience with generating analytics reports, quality assurance testing, and data acquisition and analysis
    • Capable of coding with HTML, CSS, and Javascript, identifying coding issues that cause rendering issues, and have experience implementing new email templates
    • Experience designing and implementing A/B multivariate tests
    • Experience with delivery of marketing automation projects, especially implementations and integrations (CRM, CMS).
    • Experience in digital marketing agencies or marketing technology service managed service providers.
    • Experience gathering marketing/technical requirements for client implementations.

    Preferred Experience
    • Adobe Campaign, Oracle Marketing Cloud (Eloqua), or Salesforce.com Pardot.
    • Hands-on experience with Salesforce and a Marketing Automation Platform (Pardot is a plus, Salesforce CRM certification a plus)
    • Relevant email marketing experience with an emphasis on customer segmentation in a test and learn environment
