    Basic Function
    Susan G. Komen is looking for a Sr. Cloud Engineer to join its Engineering team in building the Komen Cloud Product. If you are excited about building something from the ground up, making it highly scalable, available, performant and reliable, this opportunity is for you.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Create innovative solutions leveraging cloud platforms to solve business challenges.
    • Gather requirements, assess capabilities and analyze findings to provide appropriate cloud recommendations and adoption strategy.
    • Create conceptual, logical and physical design for cloud-based solutions for infrastructure and platforms.
    • Be well versed in AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, technology architecture, associated vendor products, and their interdependencies.
    • Provide appropriate cloud solution recommendations based on approved definition and analysis of the technical requirements.
    • Work on creating data pipelines - ingestion, transformation, cleansing, storage and transfer using Cloud Native technologies.
    • Learn and adopt new tools and techniques to increase performance, automation, and scalability.
    • Share the leading practices and cloud emerging technologies with internal team members.
    • Collaborate as part of larger teams which include Product Managers, Solution Architects, Software Developers, and Change Management professionals.
    • Configure and set up the Cloud infrastructure and implement tools that are needed to run robust Dev Ops.
    • Establish monitoring and logging, making the systems robust and meaningful.
    • Automate infrastructure provisioning and scaling.
    • Understanding of security requirements necessary to operate in a public cloud.
    • Enable self-healing of application to improve availability.
    • Writing specs and drive technical solution’s implementation.
    • Driving improvements in the Cloud product working with product management and engineering.
    • Work with security on defining and implementing security controls.
    • Be on call and drive incident resolution.
    • Strong commitment to quality, documentation, and engineering excellence.
    • Proficient communication skills with an ability to reach both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You make complex things simpler, not the other way around.

    Job Qualifications:

    Minimum Experience Required
    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
    • At least 10 years of total work experience and at least 3 Years of experience in architecture & developing Cloud native applications.
    • Deep product knowledge and understanding of product features in one or more major clouds platforms:
      • Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud
      • IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Solutions
      • Virtualization
    • Working experience with Cloud Native Services in AWS (S3, KMS, API Gateway, Redshift, Lamba) or Azure (Data Warehouse, Storage, Databricks, Azure Functions)
    • Securing OSes using standards such as NIST, CIS, and rolling out patched images at a regular frequency.
    • Experience with BI and Analytics tools, data warehousing and data repositories (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, Hadoop), cloud based analytical platforms, search and text Analytics and a variety of data management and data integration platforms and tools
    • Aptitude for building systems using modern, scalable, resilient, cloud native architectures (Containers, Serverless, etc).
    • High Availability and Disaster Recovery principles, patterns and usage
    • In-depth knowledge of at least 1 programming/scripting language (Go/Python preferred)
    • Experience with monitoring and log aggregation tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, Graylog, ELK, CloudWatch, Log Analytics, etc.
    • Experience working with messaging queues such as AmazonMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka
    • Experience with networking principles and technologies (DNS, Load Balancers, Reverse Proxies)
