    Basic Function
    This position can be a remote (if living outside of the DFW metroplex), work from home opportunity for high achievers.

    This fundraising role is an individual contributor who is responsible for planning and implementing an aggressive fundraising program to generate new revenue for the organization. Research, identify and cultivate new business opportunities with Fortune 500 corporations through lead generation, proposal preparation and sales presentations. Create new business platforms for consideration. Proactively create strategic brand alliances with targeted corporations. Ensure that the agreed upon business objectives of both Susan G. Komen and its partners are successfully achieved.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Generate strategic, integrated and viable partnerships benefiting Susan G. Komen with new brands.
    • Develop and implement aggressive solicitation of corporate support; develop and maintain knowledge of corporate giving interests, staff and trends.
    • Expand Komen’s partnership portfolio by soliciting and negotiating long term relationships with new corporate partners.
    • Support the development of new business opportunities and new business platforms in cooperation with the Marketing and Affiliate Teams.
    • Work with the Development, Affiliate and Events teams to close new sponsorships for Komen events and properties.
    • Create dynamic presentation packages for new corporate prospects.
    • Manage all new business meeting/call follow up throughout the sales cycle.
    • Generate at least $1-2 million in new brand activated partnerships in first year of employment.
    • Research prospects and serve as an industry expert to team
    • Generate new business status reports, trend analyses and revenue projections on a regular basis for sharing with Komen Senior Leadership.
    • Maintain an awareness of the competition and identify new business opportunities or new competitive threats.
    • Gain insights and understand companies’ needs in order to develop proposals which help potential partners deliver on their strategic business objectives.
    • Meet with Internal Komen staff to provide new business solutions
    • Lead regular new business meetings with a cross functional team.
    • Manage deals from origination to contract execution; Liaise effectively with other departments in Komen where other resources are needed in order to ensure seamless program execution and partnership development.
    • Transition the primary responsibility of programs to the account management team to ensure smooth transfer between the development of new business and the delivery of projects.

    Job Qualifications:

    Minimum Experience Required
    • This is a dedicated senior level fundraising position reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Partnerships. The primary focus of this position is to leverage all available internal and external resources to create sustainable multi-year, multi-million dollar partnerships.
    • Must have a track record of meeting and exceeding large revenue goals
    • Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and focus
    • The ideal candidate has at least 5 - 10 years of demonstrated success in business development/sales for an organization with significant national recognition.
    • Must be able to proactively research, identify, create and close new business opportunities.
    • Must be able to effectively leverage qualified leads, as well as their own network, to create unique partnership opportunities with Senior Executives and Fortune 500 corporations.
    • Have experience and expertise in developing comprehensive, holistic partnership proposals.
    • Must be able to effectively manage a sales process and create financial forecasting/reporting of key performance metrics.
    • Sales strategy, planning, and analysis skills are critical to performance success in this role. Individual must be an independent, self-starter who has a history of working with little direction and turning conceptual direction into executed strategies.
    • Ability to travel locally and out of town for related meetings and marketing opportunities, including evenings and weekends.

    Preferred Experience
    • Experience in selling national or regional sponsorship and/or marketing programs in the non-profit industry to Fortune 500 Corporations.
    • Proven track record in creating and managing a robust sales/partnership pipeline.
    • Strong deal/partnership lead to close ratio required.

    Travel required by the position (at least 30%, including evenings and weekends).
