My baby saved my life

I am a 32 year old art teacher from Long Island, NY. Last April 2014 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I was 6 months pregnant with my first child. After three surgeries, 7 months of chemotherapy and 6 weeks of radiation I am happy to say that I have beat this disease and my baby boy, Luke is now 7 months old and happier and healthier than ever. I had surgery and chemotherapy while i was pregnant. He is strong like his mommy and together we made it through. I call him my little angel because the pregnancy made the tumor grow faster and I was able to find the lump myself. I want to let women out there know that there is hope for recovery from this disease and I would especially like to be available to support and help anyone who has to go through the nightmare of being pregnant while fighting.

My friends and I raised over $16,000 this past summer to fight for the cure. I want to share my story and help others. If this was going to happen to me, it is going to be for a better reason. I just am not sure how to begin. I’m hoping you can help with that.
