Seventy-five percent of the funds raised from the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure® stay in the National Capital Area to address breast cancer disparities in the medically underserved. The remaining 25 percent will be invested in international community education and outreach programs through the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Global Promise Fund.
Grant Opportunities
We aim to eliminate breast cancer disparities in the Washington, D.C. area. With funds raised at the Komen Global Race for the Cure, grants will be made to support breast cancer programs implemented by coalitions or partnerships. We will support high impact programs that draw upon the expertise and resources of community-based organizations and larger institutions, specifically hospitals and universities. We support partnerships in which responsibilities, privileges and power are shared.
