3 pounds English peas, shelled (about 3 cups) or 1 pound frozen shelled peas, thawed
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh mint, chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Boil 1 inch of water in a large pot fitted with a steamer basket. Add the peas to the basket, cover, and steam 4 minutes until tender, tossing once.
Transfer the peas to a large bowl. Add the olive oil, mint, salt, and pepper. Toss to mix and coat. Serve immediately.
