  • 1/2 cup molasses 

  • 1 cup applesauce 

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon 

  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves 

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder 

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 

  • 1 3/4 cup flour 

  • Cooking spray 



  • Preheat the oven to 350�F

  • Combine the molasses and applesauce in a large bowl.

  • When mixed, add the cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, baking soda, and flour to the bowl. If the mixture seems dry, add more applesauce or some water.

  • Spray an 8x8 inch baking pan with cooking spray and pour the mixture into the pan.

  • Place the pan into the oven and bake for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick tests clean.

  • When done, remove from the oven and place it onto a cooling rack. May serve warm or cooled.
