    Experience/Training
    • Bachelors Degree in a related field; MBA preferred
    • Five years experience in leadership position within the non-profit or corporate sector.
    • Five years experience in fundraising, fund development or sales.
    • Five years of managerial experience/direct supervision of employees.
    • Experience in cause marketing, consumer fundraising or corporate partnership programs is strongly preferred.
    • Experience in cultivating, soliciting and renewing large gifts of $100,000 and above including: developing donor strategies, solicitation approaches, and donor stewardship.
    • Strong strategic skill set with demonstrated results around program creation, implementation, staff partnership.
    • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and presentation.
    • Organizational skills with thoroughness, timeliness and attention to detail when working under pressure

    Job Description:

    The Director of Income Development and Marketing (DIDM) will oversee Affiliate fundraising and event  management activities including, but not limited to: Race for the Cure events (2), corporate sponsorships, foundation giving, special events, cause marketing, 3rd party events, workplace giving, memorial/in honor of gifts, donor acquisition, major giving, planned giving and e-revenue.   The Director creates the organization’s annual fundraising plan, manages the departmental budget and ensures the Department remains at, or below, projected expenditures. In addition, the IDD personally develops new and fosters existing sponsors/major donor relationships within the five Chicagoland Affiliate counties, with emphasis in Cook, DuPage and Lake. The Director is responsible for developing a comprehensive multi-year strategic income plan, as well as an annual business plan that incorporates strategies around local signature programs, new acquisition strategies and collaborations that spur additional growth, with minimal cost to the Affiliate.  The Corporate fundraising program was established to raise an additional $1.5m in Affiliate Revenue.  This goal will be achieved through new & increased corporate sponsorships, outright donations, matching gifts, special events, Komen Chicago Race for the Cure events and global corporate partnership opportunities with Komen Headquarters. In addition, all Marketing and Communications with respect to the aforementioned income programs will be overseen by the Director.

     

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

    •  Oversee Affiliate’s Income Development Department to ensure annual goals, objectives and board approved projections are met.
    • Supervise Development team, including staff, interns, consultants and volunteers.  Create cross functional goals/objectives in order to leverage relationships across the team.
    • Manage and Staff Board Income Development Committee; provide on-going partnership to volunteers and coordinate quarterly meetings.
    • Develop and oversee annual Departmental Budget; assist with cost containment and policy compliance in order to reach and maintain a 25% cost structure.                                                                             
    • Review all revenue and event related contracts in partnership with Finance to ensure compliance and to manage risk/exposure.
    • Integrate effective corporate fundraising strategies to ensure annual Affiliate revenue goals are met.
    • Develop annual revenue plan that includes focus on corporate prospecting, acquisition, management, sales strategies and retention/acknowledgement programs.
    • Maintain relationships with corporate sponsors; successfully solicit new high-level relationships each year in order to ensure corporate sponsorship goals are fulfilled for each Affiliate special event
    • Work collaboratively to bring together the Development, Mission and Finance departments of the Affiliate to maximize outreach and IMPACT in the community.
    • Oversee all aspects of the Affiliates Marketing & PR plan, primarily related to Komen’s Signature or Affiliate Events.
    • Collect and organize data for evaluation of Income Development Program, including corporate development, major gift campaigns, cause marketing, 3rd party and the annual year end appeal to individual donors.
    • Develop and establish a “return on investment portfolio” for all corporate partners and sponsors for distribution post event.
    • Monitor 3rd party program to ensure partnerships are compliant with Komen policies.
    • Oversee donor stewardship program.
    • Serve as Komen Chicago Spokesperson at Signature events, corporate meetings, media interviews, and employee giving campaigns.
    • Provide monthly income reports with progress against goals to CEO.
    • Participate in and attend all Komen Chicago Signature events; offer support commensurate with position.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
