Fall 2012 marks the launch of an active lifestyle initiative at the beautiful Atlantis, Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Pink it in Paradise is a collection of activities and products that will be themed around breast cancer awareness in the month of October and throughout the year to benefit Komen. The Bahamas has the highest incidence of inherited breast cancer in the world with an average age of diagnosis in the Bahamas of 41, compared to 61 in the United States. Atlantis is the largest employer on the island; this campaign is bringing much needed awareness and education to the Bahamas. From October 1, 2012 through July 31, 2013 guests will be able to purchase an activity package to Walk It, Create It and Rock It for the cause. The activity pack includes a Pink it in Paradise t-shirt, pedometer, beach-themed kirigami paper craft and a complimentary climb voucher for Climber’s Rush rock wall. Guests who take part in the climb will receive a special carabineer key chain. Breast cancer awareness themed products will also be sold to benefit Komen as well as other pink initiatives throughout the property in the month of October and throughout the program period. 100% of funds raised will be used for breast health initiatives and education in the Bahamas.
