The Komen College Scholarship Program

Loading...
The Komen College Scholarship Program will be open for high school seniors and undergraduates to apply from December 1, 2009 through February 15, 2010. In 2001, Susan G. Komen for the Cure established the college scholarship program to help students who would find attending college to be a significant financial burden due to the loss of a parent or guardian to breast cancer or their own breast cancer diagnosis at age 25 or younger. The award is a generous scholarship of $10,000 a year for up to four years to attend a state university in pursuit of a baccalaureate degree. Scholarship recipients are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, financial need and demonstrated leadership potential.

Program Support

Last year, the Scholarship Program experienced an overwhelming 80% increase in applications; however, due to funding constraints Komen had to decrease the class size by nearly half, leaving many deserving students without support. To sustain and grow this program that has propelled the academic careers of nearly 50 bright young minds, we need your help.
