Susan G. Komen for the Cure has partnered with AmericanAirlines since 1988. A National Series Sponsor of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®, AmericanAirlines is the Official Airline of both the Race for the Cure and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization. Each year, AmericanAirlines provides three round-trip airline tickets for each race event and tickets for those traveling on official Komen business.

Benefit to Komen for the Cure: 100 percent of donations benefit Komen for the Cure.  The Miles for the Cure program allows AAdvantage® customers to receive ten (10) AAdvantage® miles for every dollar donated to Komen.  From May 1-31, 2013, American Airlines is offering AAdvantage® customers fifteen (15) miles for every dollar donated to Komen.

To raise additional awareness and funds for the breast cancer movement, American has hosted the AmericanAirlines Celebrity Golf and Tennis Weekend annually since 1995.  The 2012 event  took place October 4-7 at the Park Hyatt Resort Aviara and the Del Mar Country Club in southern California. Additionally, American has dedicated eight aircraft that carry the Susan G. Komen for the Cure ribbon in their support to ending breast cancer forever.
