Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Elects Silicon Valley Entrepreneur And Philanthropist Linda Law To Board Of Directors

Law Also Currently Serves on the Komen Advocacy Alliance Board

 

DALLAS – October 6, 2009 – Linda S. Law, a leading businesswoman and advocate for women, has been elected to the board of directors of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the world’s largest breast cancer organization. Law also serves of the board of the Komen Advocacy Alliance (KAA), Komen for the Cure’s sister advocacy organization.

 

“Linda brings a wealth of experience, tremendous energy and a unique perspective that will be invaluable as we build on our global mission to end breast cancer forever,” said Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, founding chair of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

 

Linda Law is the founding partner of Law & Associates, one of the only women-owned real estate development firms undertaking institutional-quality development in the United States.

 

“I am honored to increase my involvement in this critical cause and I look forward to doing my part to help this organization fulfill its promise to save lives,” Law said.

 

An alumnus of University of California, Berkeley and the Harvard Graduate School of Design, she is a founding member of the Harvard Real Estate Academic Initiative (a venture between the Harvard Business School, the Harvard Kennedy School of Public Policy, the Harvard Graduate School of Design, the Harvard Law School and Harvard College) and is currently Chair of the Harvard Real Estate International Advisory Board.

 

Ms. Law additionally serves on the national boards of ORT America, Silicom Ventures and is an advisor to Invirion Diagnostics and Betty Confidential. Law was the founder and chair of a national women’s political organization, is an RNC Regent and a member of the Founder’s Circle at Stanford University. Ms. Law lectures at UC Berkeley and Harvard University.
