Oracle Recognizes PeopleSoft Financials Implementation at Susan G. Komen for the Cure® with 2010 Titan Award
Dallas, Texas (October 25, 2010) – Oracle Corporation recently recognized the PeopleSoft Financials (ERP) system implementation at Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Komen) for excellence with its 2010 Oracle Titan Award in the “Financial Management Solution” category.
Working with Oracle Partner, eVerge Group, Komen implemented Oracle’s PeopleSoft Financials in order to streamline financial accounting operations, provide better information for decision making, strengthen internal controls and improve coordination between the Dallas headquarters and its more than 120 Affiliates nationwide. The system was initially implemented at the Komen headquarters and a few test Affiliates in September, 2008. The rollout to the remaining Affiliates was completed in April, 2010.
The primary goal of the new system is to enable Komen to devote a greater percentage of every dollar contributed to the cause. Oracle’s PeopleSoft system is proving to be the right technology and a key component in the fight to end breast cancer.
“The primary goals of our new financial system are to enable Komen to further improve efficiency, financial analysis and internal control which will enable a greater percentage of every dollar contributed to help find cures. Oracle’s platforms will allow us to more effectively interact across our network and integrate other key business systems,” says Komen’s Chief Financial Officer Mark Nadolny.
About Susan G. Komen for the Cure®
Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®, we have invested more than $1.5 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
