DALLAS – November 24, 2011 – Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the world’s largest breast cancer organization, issued the following statement today mourning the death of former Chicago First Lady Maggie Daley.
“Maggie Daley faced breast cancer with the same quiet courage and determination that was her signature for living life,” said Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, founder and CEO of Komen for the Cure. “She was a friend to our organization and to women facing this disease everywhere. It is fitting that a wing at the Lurie Cancer Center is named in her honor, offering hope and comfort to women facing this disease in the town she loved so much. Our hearts go out to her family and to all in the City of Chicago who knew and admired her as we did.”
