Susan G. Komen for the Cure®’s Chief Scientific Advisor Shares Viewpoint on Addressing Disparities in Breast Cancer Care for Minority Women

November 25, 2008 - A study in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute (JNCI) published today promotes new tactics to address disparities in follow-up breast cancer care for minority women. But far more research is needed to understand issues which may be keeping large percentages of minority women from receiving the care they desperately need, according to Dr. Eric P. Winer, M.D., chief scientific advisor for Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and director of the Breast Oncology Center at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Winer’s viewpoint is also published in JNCI.
