> Major Gifts Manager - Dallas, DC or Midwestern State Region
Develops and manages a Major Gifts program for Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Duties will include, but not be limited to: implementation and management of a membership society to attract major gifts; research of prospective major donors, and the cultivation and solicitation of major donors; planning and implementation of cultivation events to support major gift giving; and integration of the Major Gifts program with Affiliate Leadership. Plans major gift solicitations and promotes publicity/donor recognition associated with the Major Gifts program. Tracks and reports activities to cultivate and solicit major donor prospects.
Requires BS/BA in marketing, communications, or related field plus 5-7 years of development experience in a professional capacity. Must have successfully raised money through a Major Gifts program. Excellent verbal and writing skills are required. Work experience must demonstrate the ability to plan strategically and to successfully guide/execute special events. Position demands the ability to positively interact internally as a team member as well as externally with donors and leadership members. Must show evidence of past success implementing processes to build/cultivate donor relationships and growing stewardship processes.
Prefer 5+ years of major gift fundraising experience. Prefer experience building long term relationships with persons who may be considered prospective high-end donors. Value the ability to convene small groups of business/community leaders and entertain such groups with the intent of soliciting major gifts or contacts for major gifts.
Must possess exceptional organizational/interpersonal skills. Position requires a significant amount of travel.
