Responsible for the development of strategies, goals and objectives to support diversification and growth of revenue base for Komen for the Cure development and fundraising programs.  Oversees initiatives with potential for maximizing revenue and development opportunities.    

   

Primary Responsibilities  

  • Evaluates current and prospective development opportunities to determine potential for strategic relationships, professional affiliations and associations with Komen. 
  • Guides the organization’s revenue development through channels which include major gifts, major fundraising events, planned giving, foundation and corporate giving, and individual gifts.   
  • Ensures and oversees plans for evaluation of target programs and methodologies for forecasting expected results.  Integrates development plans with the organization’s overall objectives. 
  • Oversees cultivation and growth of donor relationships (both current and prospective) to ensure continued support of Komen’s mission.   
  • Oversees development of foundation and corporate gifts.  Ensures delivery of expected services or terms relative to grants from foundations or corporations. 
  • Leverages innovative methodologies to reach and engage new donors or to grow existing donor relationships. 
  • Provides leadership for identifying ways to support Komen’s public policy agenda and outreach, health sciences agenda, and international development through Komen’s donor programs. 
  • Develops and oversees an infrastructure system to support to Komen’s Affiliate Network in delivery of national programs to Komen Affiliates.  Ensures integration of fundraising activities with Affiliate Service and Affiliates, suggesting complimentary programs and activities for maximum revenue generation.   
  • Protects the fiduciary responsibilities of the organization, fiscally manages operations in accordance with assigned budget parameters, and personally advances the leadership standards for the organization. 
  • Oversees budgets and staff of subordinate teams. Guides all related revenue generation activities to produce a revenue stream of approximately $50-75M per year. 


Position Qualifications

BS/BA or equivalent in business, marketing, management, liberal arts.  10+ years of experience in program management and development.  Management of high-profile donor relationships and related events is very important.  

 

Prefer 10 - 15 years of experience as referenced above.  Management experience in a not-for-profit organization and/or advance degree considered valuable.   

 

Thorough understanding of traditional fundraising methodology and supporting processes and operations to support successful programs.
