Living with MBC

I was diagnosed with both breast and cervical cancer over twenty-seven years ago, in the dark ages, before the internet, social media, and the entry of Susan G. Komen on the national stage. My cancer was caught at an early stage; and I was lucky enough not to experience a recurrence or a more advanced stage, even though the fear remained long after everyone else decided I was cancer free. That’s the funny thing about any kind of cancer. You are never ‘free’ again.

From a senior vice-president on Wall Street to small business owner, to novelist, my passion to advocate, educate and raise funds for women’s health issues became close to a full time job. Currently I focus on creating support and awareness for the issues associated with advanced breast cancer. My mission is to empower women with the knowledge they need to live a full, creative and rewarding life as cancer ‘free,’ as I have gratefully lived.

I’m married to a wonderful man, am a mother of three outstanding children, and a grandmother to six.
