Hi, my name is Melinda and I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago with stage 3 breast cancer. When I found out I felt like someone had hit me in the head with a brick, what did I do to deserve this, who is going to be there for my sons, my grandchildren, my family, for my disabled boyfriend and the little girl that I just got custody of 3 months ago. However when my family and friends and co-workers found out they said what ever I needed no matter what or when they’d be there for me and walk with me every step of the way. The support I have is the best thing I have, they have taught me what family and friends are all about, that they need me as much as I need them and how important it is for me to fight with everything I have. Life is too precious and important to give up, I have a lot of goals I need to keep, my sons, grandchildren, a disabled boyfriend and a little girl to take care of, I can’t go anywhere. So for those of you that have just been diagnosed or are in the middle of treatment, don’t give up, let your family and friends help you through this. I know your scared to death, so am I, but we can do this. The most important thing right now is that we need to get this garbage out of us and fight, fight for our families, fight for our friends and fight for our lives. We can do this!
