I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, at age 34. I have 3 boys. There was no history of breast cancer in my family. I was Er/Pr + but was her2 neg. I was stage 3. I had a mastectomy of my left breast and a bunch of lymph nodes removed. I had 1 yr of chemotherapy and 5 yrs of Aromasin. I was cancer free for 12 yrs. November 2015 my cancer was back. 6 spots in each lung and a spot on my spine. I have had 6 rounds of chemotherapy and will continue to have prajeta and herceptin until it stops working. If you are newly diagnosed, I would go see Cancer Services in your area. They are wonderful. Join a support group either on line or in your area. It’s OK to cry and it’s OK to feel sorry for yourself just don’t stay there. Everyone’s cancer story is different. You have the right to be angry. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Keeping asking questions until you understand your treatment. You are loved.
