    Job Description:

    The Development Coordinator (DC) is responsible for coordinating, organizing, planning and executing a myriad of
    fundraising, development and volunteer programs activities for the Affiliate. This includes, but is not limited to,
    Affiliate events including the Chicago and Lombard Race for the Cure, Team Komen events including Marathon for the Cure and other endurance events, Cause Related Marketing programs, National programs and 3rd Party Fundraisers. In addition, the DC is responsible for managing the Volunteer and Intern programs for the affiliate.

    ·         Manage allaspectsof headquarters CauseRelatedMarketing programsbycomplying withallfulfillmentrequirementswhichincludes marketing,coordinatingand executingeach program, aswell as submittingallrequired documents in atimely fashion.

    ·         Assistwith Raceforthe Cureevent fulfillment,committeeactivation andcoordination,andoverall logistics.

    ·         Manage day-to-daycoordinationof TEAMKOMEN programsincluding,butnotlimitedto,MarathonfortheCure,Shamrock Shuffleandotherenduranceevents.Concentratingon donorstewardshipof TEAMKOMENmembersandoverall programlogistics,aswell asmanaging TEAMKOMEN volunteercommittee members.

    ·         Serve as NationalLiaisonandlocalcontactforNational SignatureEvents(PassionatelyPinkandRallyfortheCure) inorder to expand reach andincreaserevenue year overyear.

    ·         Assistinmanaging select 3rdpartyfundraising eventswhichmayincludefulfillment, coordination andmarketing.

    ·         Assistin coordinating theannualHopeImpact Awardsandotheraffiliate eventsasneeded.

    ·         Manage and coordinateallaspects ofthe Affiliatevolunteerprogramincluding,but not limitedto,recruitment,training,on-boarding,recognition,datamanagementin VolunteerImpactdatabase and on-going andregularcommunicationsthroughvolunteerE-Newsletters inConvio.

    ·         Manage allRacefortheCurecommitteerecruitmentand on-boarding.Assist in coordinating RacefortheCurecommittee fulfillmentwithoversight overspecificsubcommittees(i.e.Volunteers,Operations,etc).

    ·         Ensure volunteersarerecruitedand placedforthe successfulexecutionof all Signatureevents (pre,during andpostevent),annualpeergrantreviewerpanel andyear-round education requests(i.e.healthfairs and speakerrequests).

    ·         Overseeall aspectsof the unpaidIntern Programthatbrings valuableresourcestotheAffiliate ona regularbasis.Recruit,interview,placeand evaluateInterns.Workwithstafftoassure specific training needs areaddressed.Ensure properprocessing foreducationalcredit and referralletterspostinternship.Develop keyrelationshipwith educational institutionsandcommunitiestoensure a consistentinflux of interns into theAffiliate.Personallyoversee and supervisemultipleinterns per semester(as needed).

    ·         Assistwith creating andmonitoring relevantprogram budgetstoensureincomeis as at,orabove,projectionsand expensesareat,or below,projectedexpenditures.

    ·         Serve as KomenChicagoSpokesperson atevents,employee giving kick-offsand/ormission relatedevents.

    ·         Participate inandattendall KomenChicago Signatureevents;offer supportcommensuratewith position.

    ·         Other dutiesasassigned.


    Job Qualification:

    ·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

    ·         Minimum of two years experience in fund development, special event management and/or volunteer program management.

    ·         Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and presentation.

    ·         Technologically savvy; experience with Convio, Volunteer Impact and/or Salesforce Database a plus.

    ·         Ability to work well with a diverse population.

    ·         A high degree of integrity that garners the trust and respect of others.

    ·         A record of planning and supporting growth.

    ·         A professional acumen to be able to meet deadlines and establish priorities.

    ·         Organizational skills with thoroughness, timeliness and attention to detail particularly when working under pressure.

    ·         Ability to accept changes in a fast passed environment.

    ·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.




    Additional Requirements:


    ·         Travel outside of the office required.

    ·         Evening and weekend work required.

    ·         Ability to lift 15 pounds.
